New figures show Britain has come out of recession.
Andrew Dismore, Labour Member of Parliament for Hendon, said:
"Today's figures are good news. But we need to be cautious. I don't want to put the recovery in Hendon at risk by making deep cuts now.
When Hendon was faced with a global recession and the worst financial crisis in 60 years, Labour was not prepared to let the recession take its course. Our priority was to protect homes, jobs and businesses.
We need to continue supporting the economy to strengthen the recovery and take the actions necessary to promote growth and jobs. We have been clear, we will halve the deficit over four years, but it would be a huge mistake to cut support while the economy is still recovering.
The Conservatives threaten our economic recovery. They would cut support to the economy, hitting people on middle incomes in the pocket and cutting services we all rely on. But at the same time they are promising a £200,000 giveaway to the 3000 richest estates in the country.
We've taken action to support people. If we'd repeated the experience of Tory recession in the 1990s, house repossessions and businesses failures would have been twice as high; and another 1.7m more people would have lost their jobs."
